EMOM timer
Every minute on the minute. The timer beeps at the top of each minute, you do your reps then rest until the next one. Set the round length and how many rounds, press start and go. Nothing to install and no sign up.
Seconds per round. The default is ten one minute rounds. Keep rest at zero for a true EMOM.
Save your EMOMs and run them anywhere
This page runs one timer at a time. The free Interval Timer app saves every timer you build, casts to the big screen and reads each round out loud.
What is an EMOM?
EMOM stands for every minute on the minute. At the start of each minute you do a set number of reps, then rest for whatever is left of the minute. The faster you work, the more rest you earn. When the next minute starts, you go again. It is a simple way to build work capacity and keep a steady pace without watching a clock.
How to use this timer
Pick a lift and a rep count you can finish inside a minute with time to spare, maybe eight to twelve reps to start. Set the round to 60 seconds and choose your rounds. Press start. The beep at the top of each minute is your cue to begin the next set. If the reps start eating into your rest, lower the count or the rounds.
Change it to fit your session
Not every EMOM runs on a single minute. Set the round to 90 or 120 seconds for heavier lifts that need more time, or shorten it for conditioning. You can also add a rest block between rounds if you want a breather. The tool keeps nothing between sessions, so set it fresh each time.
Where the app takes over
If you run EMOMs often, the free Interval Timer app saves them so you are one tap from starting. It reads each round out loud, casts to a TV and keeps a history of what you have run. See the full app, or try the Tabata timer for short high intensity intervals.
Common questions
What does EMOM mean?
Every minute on the minute. You start a set of reps at the top of each minute and rest for the time you have left before the next minute begins.
How many reps should an EMOM be?
Enough to finish inside the minute with time to rest, often eight to twelve to start. If you cannot finish before the next beep, drop the reps.
Can an EMOM be longer than a minute?
Yes. Set the round to 90 or 120 seconds for heavier lifts. The name says minute, but the format works on any fixed interval.
Is EMOM good for building strength?
It builds work capacity and consistency more than raw strength. Keep the reps well short of failure and use moderate weights so your form holds every round.
